This may well be the first photograph taken of what would one day be the city of Vancouver

“This may well be the first photograph taken of what would one day be the city of Vancouver. English photographer Frederick Daily came to British Columbia in 1862 because of the Caribou gold rush. On one of his many trips between Victoria and Barkerville he photographed this Indian settlement, circa 1866, which was located on Lost Lagoon at the foot of what is now Robson Street.” (from “Vancouver – An Illustrated Chronolgy” by Chuck Davis and Shirley Mooney)
